Every year IHRA has had a team of volunteers, usually recruited locally and comprising people from all sorts of groups – students, drug user advocates and NURSES – who bring to the conference a range of skills and abilities. These volunteers perform a range of tasks, ranging from using language skills to help delegates for whom the main language of the conference (English) is not their own, to providing technical help, to welcome and information services for delegates, to assisting with registration of delegates, to guiding delegates around the venue and operating roving microphones in sessions.
In return for your assistance you will receive a free registration for the conference – including attendance at the social and networking events – as well as tee-shirts identifying you as volunteers at the conference and a small per diem to cover out of pocket expenses (lunch and refreshments are provided each day). All volunteers also receive a certificate confirming the attendance and involvement in the conference.
For the second consecutive year, in collaboration with International Harm Reduction Association's (IHRA’s) and the Conference Consortium, the International Nursing Harm Reduction Network (INHRN) is pleased to announce a Call for Volunteers. We are looking for loyal, reliable people to volunteer at Harm Reduction 2009. The Conference will take place in the Imperial Queen's Park Hotel - a 37-storey, 4-star hotel which is centrally located on Sukhumvit Road - close to the sky-train. Harm Reduction 2008, 20—23 April 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand. This is the IHRA’s 20th International Conference and it is expected to attract over 1,200 participants.
If you think you might be interested or you have staff interested and they, or you as their employer, could provide expenses to cover travel and accommodation costs, then you or your staff could well benefit from taking part in the conference.
